Tetrazzini’s Last Hurrah

Synopsis: Fitz and Teddy–two estranged brothers–meet by chance while traveling to New York City to attend the last concert of a dying opera singer. How will these squabbling siblings manage to cut their way through the brambles, traps, and fearsome beasts of the urban jungle? How, indeed. Tetrazzini’s Last Hurrah is an 80-min comedic play that addresses issues such as politics, sex, and family.
The Mental Notion Society seeks one male actor to play the role of Fitz. Age range from late 20′s to early 30′s. Candidates should be a bit husky or of larger physique yet still agile w/the ability for minimal physical comedic bits. Candidates should have a strong theatrical background (2-3+ yrs) with some improvisational training/experience (1-2+ yrs).
One Audition Date: Saturday, March 30th, 2013 – between 1 – 4pm

Time Commitment: 1 to 2 rehearsals per week starting the week of April 8th. Tetrazzini will be performed every Saturday at 7pm, from May 11th thru May 25th, 2013 (3 performances) at the Underground Lounge – 952 W. Newport Ave., Chicago, IL 60657. Rehearsals will be approximately 2-3 hours each. No compensation as the shows will be free itself – this one’s for the love of the art!
Audition Prep:
Audition is based on 3 factors: 1. a 1-3 minute contemporary monologue ; 2. cold read & 3. short improvised scene work. Please bring a headshot and resume to the audition. You will NOT be accepted without these. To audition, pls sign up at the following link:
